Hola I want to learn Spanish please
No supe nadar hasta los treinta y cinco años, pero después de enfermar aprendí a nadar, como parte de mi recuperación. Sólo sabía nadar de pecho y pensé que nunca aprendería a nadar the crawl, or freestyle.. Pero aprendí a nadar freestyle cuando tenía sesenta años. Veía montones de vídeos durante lockdown, luego iba a la piscina y practicaba. No soy rápido, pero sé nadar bastante bien el estilo libre, segúr un profesor de natación que conozco.
No puedo hablar bien español, muy poco, pero,disfruto leyendo, escribiendo y escuchando podcasts, así que poco a poco estoy mejorando.

I’m not at all surprised that so many have trouble in mastering Spanish especially if they don’t live in a Spanish speaking environment as the methods of teaching usually leave something to be desired. Even thoigh you two do very well, you could do better. For example, the above test in your Spanish conversation you say if students understand even 10%, 20%, they’re on the road to success. Well perhaps, but it could still be a long road. Whereas if you included in your podcast a script of your entire conversation, students would soon understand 100% of it. And that process repeated over and over would certainly accelerate student comprehension and conversational skills. However, including scripts entails extra bother and costs, and so few teaching sources are willing to oblige. But you are right, language learning requires patience and determination, and success which can come in different ways, ncluding by Ben & Marina, with or without scripts. !!Bien con ustedes!

With all due respect, I don’t totally agree with the comment above. The human brain always looks for the easy option. If scripts are provided for every video, it is too easy to stop trying to listen to what is being said and just read the scripts. I appreciate is is frustrating for beginners but it is amazing how much more you can pick up after listening to the video a few times.

Creía firmemente que era físicamente incapaz de hacer rodar la “rr” cuando hablaba español, una creencia que fue reforzada por amigos y familiares. Sin embargo, descubrí que esto no era cierto. Aprendí, con algo de esfuerzo, pero todavía estoy aprendiendo y progresando. Mi consejo es: ignora a los detractores y permítete creer en ti mismo.

Soy un miembro de Spanish 101. He estado usando y estudiando con Oro Español durante muchos años. Estoy frustrado, pero no me rendiré nunca. Aprender un idioma es como una maratón, no un sprint.

Había estudiado español durante treinta y cinco años, pero no tenía confianza en hablar con los hispanohablantes y creí que nunca podría hablar con fluidez. Encontré los podcasts de Notes in Spanish y los escuché todos con los transcripciones. Durante los siguientes cinco años escuché a Ben y Marina decirnos una y otra vez que necesitábamos un intercambio para practicar hablar en español. Por fin empecé a hablar con un intercambio y este cambió mis piensas y mi vida. Por último me uní al Inner Circle donde también puedo practicar. Ahora tengo la confianza a hablar con cualquiera en español y creo que algún día podré hablar en español con fluidez. ¡Muchísimas gracias a Ben y Marina!
Hola Ben y Marina! Que’ Buena idea para una discucio’n! Cuando era joven, me gusto aprender a manejar una motocicleta, pero mi madre me dijo “sobre mi cuerpo muerto!” Se’ que ella teni’a miedo por mi, y abandonaba la idea. Despue’s muchos y muchos anos , a la edad de cincuenta anos, finalmente, yo decidi’a a tomar la clase ba’sica de motociclismo. La clase fue dos dias de instruccion muy duro, y al fin del dia uno, estaba muy cansada, y sabi’a que no podr’a continuar el curso el di’a pro’ximo. ? Pero, un par de meses luego, tomaba la clase otra vez, y ganaba mi licencia de motociclismo! Era muy orgullosa de mi!
Ha sido tres an~os que empezaba el espan~ol (otra vez de escuela secundaria! ), y algunas di’as, pienso que no se’ nada! Pero, muchos otros di’as, puedo entender un monto’n! Asi ‘pasan las cosas! Me encanta aprender los idiomas, especialment espan~ol, y los dos le hace muy divertido! Gracias!
Me encanta vosotros estilo de enseñar. Durante algunos años he utilizado los cursos ‘Inspired Beginners’, ‘Intermediate’, ‘Gold’ y ‘ finalmente ’Advanced’ Todavía cometo muchos errores y tengo más que aprender, pero es un viaje.
Ni tengo ni idea si el futuro hable con fluidez pero no me importa. A mi me gusta el viaje
