Can you tell me how to download this before watching it……going direct to ‘play’ just results in endless stops as it goes faster than the download speed?

Thanks

Maarten

Comment from Ben

Hi Maarten, if you hit play, then pause it straight away and wait a minute, it will all download – you can see this with the red download status bar at the bottom of the video – once it is complete, hit play again. I hope that helps, Ben

Comment from grahunt

Just placed the video on my Posterous blog as it is very useful Ben. Same problem of download speed though, very slow today.

Comment from emmi

Typo error – LOL! “Bacalao rebozado – Cattered cod” Meeoow! I think a little Spanglish has crept in here……………..Battered Cod is better with chips!

Comment from Ben

Thanks Graham for the post, and yes, must be that youtube is slow for some reason…
Emmi – oops! I’ll change that – one always gets through!

Comment from Phil

Enjoyed the video, Ben. Many happy memories of ‘Sol’, though at the time of our last visit, it was in chaos with all those ‘obras’ in full swing.

Just one little point – if you were to take the N6 (or A6 as it’s now called) from Sol, you’d be heading AWAY from Andalucia, towards A Coruña! It’s the A4 you need if you want to come and join us in sunny Málaga!

Comment from Ben

@Phil – ha ha, you are quite right, I got my roads well and truly mixed up!

Comment from Janet

Comment from Richardksa

There’s a place in La Latina that does delicious battered cod, which they call “estilo segovia”. As good as in the best of English chippys. No chips, though!
But heavens! Band M, it’s a whole twelve months since they finished the obras in Sol. Leo (to whom belated birthday wishes) must be keeping you busy. Soon will see the completion of the Plaza Opera with Queen Isabel reinstated to her plinth. Next video from there??

Comment from Jose Leandro

I think that was the bacalao joint my father was trying to get me to, during GME 08.

Comment from Amie

¡fabuloso! ¡otro! ¡otro! ¡otro!

Comment from Annie Carvalho

Awesome video! I love these videos so much b/c I’m a visual person and it helps to see what you’re talking about! I’m still listening to the beginners and intermediate lessons, but I’m glad you’re doing an advanced series and I’ll be there as soon as I can!

I’d love to see/hear a video on a place like Italica (near Sevilla), on flamenco, or on the Camino Santiago, which I’ve walked several times.

Great work!

Comment from Annie Carvalho

Oh yes! And I’m so glad to see Ben is eating bacalau! I’m Portuguese and it is said there are 365 ways to cook it!

Comment from La Vaquera

Thank you, this is wonderful! Although it did make me homesick for Madrid. And thank you for the tip about watching the video straight through, Ben — who knew, haha! I live way out in the country where the connection is very bad, and thought I just couldn’t watch videos. But after waiting only a minute, it plays perfectly. This has made my day . . .and I can’t wait for Gold II (“Son of Gold”?) next week.

Comment from Ann V

Very well done :) . Gracias.

Comment from Monkey

Hahaha very good Ben, you’re now eating fish. Good work and good video

Well done to you both
MJ

Comment from Ben

@Richardksa – yes, very busy! And perhaps Opera next, I love that corner of the center!

@Jose – you have to come back then and try that cod!

@Amie – pronto, pronto!

@Annie – How cool that you’ve walked the Santiago way so many times, and I’m sure you’ll be up to advanced soon!

@ La Vaquera – ‘Son of Gold’ – that’s great! Maybe for the series after this one!

@Ann- Thanks!

@Monkey – Nice to hear from you!

@Vincent – Me alegro que te guste

@char – de nada! Me encanta Málaga – que suerte has tenido!

Comment from Brian

Hola MArina and Ben.

Comment from Mark m

Excellent video guys!! only just caught it so i’m going to watch it again tomorrow as its late now. Thanks for taking the time to do these videos, they really help to keep me motivated to learn. I’m studying the subjunctive at the moment so as you can imagine the motivation tends to drop a little, but i soldier on…

Mark

Comment from Linz

¡Espero con mucho entusiasmo Gold Two!

Comment from Ben

@Brian – que bien! Gracias a ti tambien!

@Mark m – good luck with the subjunctive – don’t rush it, take it one step at a time!

Comment from tobyo

tobyo

Comment from Rodney

¡Bien hecho!

Comment from Ben

Y hoy hemos publicado otro video nuevo!

http://www.notesinspanish.com/?p=1263

Comment from tobyo

yes…please keep making videos!! so many appreciate it, including me. hasta entonces!

Comment from tobyo

para Linz….no te preocupes. Okay, gotta switch to English for this. it’s much too early in the morning to think in Spanish! But, I wanted to tell you (if you see this) that 30 years ago I too went to classes in Madrid. I was there an entire school year and I had much the same fears that you have. But, you will quickly see that classes in Spanish are not that hard. and it appears to me you have enough of a command of the language that you will be just fine. don’t worry and enjoy it! I have fond memories of my year in Madrid. I am certain you will too :)

Comment from Linda

Hola Ben,

Sorry for the dumb question, but I just wanted to make sure I understood:

Is the early discount available right now, or will it be rolled out this coming Monday? Just want to make sure I don’t miss out!

Muchas gracias,
Linda

Comment from Ben

@Linda – not yet, from Monday 22nd, this coming Monday – don’t worry, you won’t miss it!

Comment from Elena

how do i sign up!

Comment from Graham

Oh no, not the bacalao again! :-)

Comment from Alan

¡Qué interesante! He aprendido tanto que quiero otra vez volver a Madrid! ¡Muchas gracias!

Comment from Ben

@Elena – Sign up is open on Monday, there will be a link from the blog here and sent out via our newsletter!

@Graham – even I love the bacalao these days!

@Alan – Gracias a ti tambien por tu comentario!

Comment from Vivienne

” estatua del oso y del madroño – The statue of the bear and the tree strawberry” Should be Strawberry Tree – not tree strawberry. I have eaten the fruit here in Mallorca. They are lovely but I have heard that you shouldn’t eat too many as they ferment quickly in the stomach! Great video and everytime I hear one I think – oooh! I understand almost all of that. Thank you.

Comment from Ben

@Vivienne – Thanks for the error spotting advice and the advice on eating them!

Comment from jerome

Comment from Ben

@Jerome – Gracias!

Comment from Jessica

Comment from Jessica

Oops! I decided to correct my preposition mid-upload and it posted twice. :-) Which is correct???

Comment from Ben

@Jessica – ‘De’ sounds better to Marina!
