I am really enjoying these podcasts - great for picking up idioms.

The summer has changed my habits this year - I take wellies and an ubbrella everywhere. Hope Ben’s lot in Oxford havent been inundated - it looked bad on the news…

I’m not very sure how bad the inundations are in Oxford as Ben’s dad is in Spain at the moment. I know that Ben’s aunt, who lives nearer to the river, has started to move her best furniture to safer places

Get ready for a weather change, there is a heat wave in Spain at the moment!

Los veranos en el sur de los Estados Unidos son muy húmedos y calurosos. Eso es mucho peor que el calor sin humedad. Además de tomar cerveza, a los sureños les gusta el té con hielo. Todo el mundo toma bebidas con hielo acá. Aire condicionado es casi universal. Aveces en los edificios públicos lo tienen el aire tan frio que alguna gente necesita ponerse ropa más abrigada. Por ejemplo, nunca voy a un cine o restaurante sin llevarme un sueter!

¡Enhorabuena para Inspired Beginners! He robado los worksheets de mi marido, aunque estoy aprendiendo español desde hace tres años, y resultan muy útil para revisión de los basicos. Especialmente numero 6, ‘El Verano en Madrid’. ¡Ahora tengo mucho mas vocabulario para quejar por el calor…!

Ben dijo que los estudiantes no hacen los deberes. Yo entiendo eso. Era profesor de computadoras y con frecuencia los estudiantes no hacen los deberes. Pero en el colegio hay que hacerlo. Vivo en Nueva York, en una ciudad pequeña que se llama Poughkeepsie, cerca del río Hudson. Este verano no hace tiempo muy caluroso. Pero hoy estará 95 grados, cerca de 33 grados Celsius. En primavera y otoño soy el gerente de la clase de español en Center for Lifetime Studies (los ancianos que quieren usar la mente). El gerente hace anuncios, toma asistencia, presenta la profesora, etc. En verano soy presentador de “spanishconversation” en línea vía Skype. Es un grupo quien quiere aprender español en conversación. En verdad, ¡quiero aprender español!

that was so amazing! i really enjoyed listening to it and it helped me greatly for my trip to Spain
