11M – A Notes in Spanish Vlog
Today’s video looks at two monuments in the center of Madrid that commemorate those that died in the March 11th 2004 Madrid train bombings. Forgive/spot the occasional Spanish error, I’ll always be learning too!

Pingback from Place your bets at Madrid’s Hipódromo – Notes from Madrid
[...] So, you spend the morning wandering from the paddock (to check out the horses and riders as they saddle up), to the track, to the betting booths, stopping every now and again for a beer or Butifarra sandwich, people watching, cheering on your horses… great stuff. My total winnings for the day? Zero. I lost a grand total of 12 Euros, and it was worth every centimo! There are more photos from the day over at Flickr, and a short video below (from our Spanish videoblogging collection!) [...]

A great videoblog – you are clearly getting the hang of iMovie!! Its great that you are in the shot whilst recording – I find it much easier to understand what you are saying because I can see you speaking.

Thanks Ben for sharing your trip to the estacion Atocha! I was Madrid on March 11th 2004 and could not believe my eyes when I saw the news in the subte TV. A day before I just visited the estacion Atocha which is/was so beautiful! Good to see that there have been built such great monuments.
(sorry for my errors in english, I’m still learning english and spanish…

Hola Mark, en España es habitual ver cipreses en los cementerios por tanto se asocia con los muertos, pero en realidad simboliza la inmortalidad.
