We think this is going to be a really fun month for Notes in Spanish!
October has been dubbed the ‘International Video Blogging Month’ and we really hope that as many of you as possible will send in a Spanish video blog from where ever you are in the world. We’ve already had our first video posted, from Costa Rica!
Send us a video blog too! It’s a great way to improve your spoken Spanish confidence, and to introduce yourself to the super-friendly Notes in Spanish community.
All you have to do is make a short video and upload it to the special video-blogging section of our forum, where you’ll find details of how to post your videos, and be able to see everyone else’s work.
Back from a recent trip to the south of Spain, we have plenty of videos for you over the next few weeks! Here is the first, from the terrifyingly-named Puerto de Despeñaperros!
Tony Spanos and his students over at Weber State University are doing great things with the Spanish video blogging movement, with Tony introducing us to excellent modismos, and his students producing videos of their own. You can see their work over at Tony’s youtube page. Nothing, however, propared us for the following masterpiece by Marcus Asay and Jeff Jepperson:
¡Muchísimas Gracias Chicos! Nos ha encantado. You can see all the Notes in Spanish videoblogging community’s obras de arte over at our special youtube group page, and discuss them in the forum.
Now we need another university to take up the challenge of producing work as good as we’re seeing from Weber State. Keep these video blogs coming!
Today’s video looks at two monuments in the center of Madrid that commemorate those that died in the March 11th 2004 Madrid train bombings. Forgive/spot the occasional Spanish error, I’ll always be learning too!
Why not join the NIS video blogging party? Make your own Spanish vlog, add it to our fast-growing youtube group, and discuss it in the vlogging forum post with all the other NIS video bloggers around the world!

After posting a couple of weeks ago about Mexican and Argentinian podcasts, there was a lot of discussion in the forum and the comments here, highlighting some of your favourite Spanish audio resources. I thought it would be useful to list them all in one place:
RTVE – Spanish national radio and TV available over the net
Cadena Ser – Podcasts from one of Spain’s finest radio stations
¡¡Madre mia!! ¿Tanto fuman los niños españoles? When I first saw the poster above, I was really worried about the Spanish kids of today! The video cleared things up, eventually… So, for ten points, who’s really doing the smoking?
