Hi, I’m a Spanish student in high school. My teacher assigned this for us to listen and take notes of everything we understood. But as a beginner in Spanish, this was really difficult for me!! I’m not used to just hearing spanish without a transcript to follow along with and it’s hard to pick out and look up unfamiliar words when my vocabulary isn’t where it needs to be. If you could add a transcript or reading to go along with this, it would be much easier for beginners to follow along with. Thank you!!

Me gusta mucho la primera lecçion de Noticas en España Gold. Pude entender casi todo. Y la explicaçión al fin, espero que esta sección me ayudaré a escribir y hablar español como los españoles, no como una traducción, directamente, palabra por palabra, de ingés. Saben lo que estoy tratando de decir? Más coloquial.

Hola Ben! I wrote a comment a few days ago, but haven’t seen an answer yet. I was asking whether the present Notes In Spanish is due to disappear when the Gold comes out. I hope not, since I’ve bought the whole package of worksheets and haven’t had time to get very far — was waiting until I got to Mexico this winter. Will the NIS podcasts still be available for listening? Anyway, thanks for everything.

@Ron – if you can cope with our intermediate audio, then NIS Gold will be challenging, but could be very rewarding if you are up for the challenge! It won’t be so heavy on the only-in-Spain very colloquial phrases that don’t work in other places (though of course we’ll add a bit of that!), just more great real Spanish conversation with something great extra added too!

Quiero mucho tus videos y me preguntar por Notes in Spanish Gold; estoy todavia “Inspired Beginner” y he estudiado casi todos de los NIS Beginners Podcasts. Tengo muchos de los Transcriptos.
Lo siento que “Beginners” no continua pero intiendo que tu no peuden continuar con todos – demasiado trabajo!
I think I´d better switch to English – I was born in England, lived most of my life in Canada and have retired to Mexico, on the shores of Lake Chapala. Now busy learning Spanish. The only problem is that I need Mexican Spanish. Here we call a bus
“un camion” (a truck is una troca), peanuts are cacahuates and so on. I found Notes In Spanish invaluable except for some of the “cool Spanish” , and then ” How to sound …..in ten words or less” and Real Spanish phrase book. Many of these words and phrases brought nothing but blank stares here!” I would like to try NIS GOLD but am a little afraid that it might be too
“Castellano” for here. Big dilemma!
By the way. I rely on The Toronto Globe and Mail (on line edition) and occasionally CBC’s The National for my news (lol)!
