all i have to say is que? i have a hard time understanding people when they speak in spanish. i think i’m pretty good with the reading. i guess it is just a skill i have to develop.

Hola Ben y Marina,
Hoy fue la primera vez que escuché Notes in Spanish Advanced, y les confieso que me dejó con la boca abierta por lo bueno que es– no sabía que existía un programa así de real e interesante, de tan buena calidad. Además, me encantan los temas que escogen, por eso es muy divertido escuchar los podcasts una y otra vez. También me gusta que todo sea auténtico y de tono conversacional. Muchas gracias a ustedes por seguir realizando este programa fantástico, y que lo sigan haciendo!

Hola! Estuve en España el semestre pasado y me da miedo que voy a olvidar todo mi español, pero tu sitio me ayudará practicar. Estuve en Valencia y conocí a gente que trabajaron en oficinas que no tienen siesta pero más como una hora y media para la comida. Es una lastima que la siesta no es tan común en las ciudades grandes como antes, me encantó que mi horario de clase me permitió regresar a casa para la comida con mi “familia”, y creo que es un parte de la cultura española que no debe estar dejada.

Haha ok, thanks Ben…I know a lot of people from Bolivia, and natrually, people from all around the globe since there is a Naval College here where tons of people come internationally, a great experience for practicing Spanish!

I am probably at the intermediate level in Spanish, but I benefit from listening to (and using the worksheets from) all three levels. Your topics and timely and interesting and like most of your fans, estoy ilusionado a recibir podcasts nuevos! My wife and I lived in Jaen capital for a year, and at first mediodia and the siesta seemed old fashioned and a bit bothersome. But as we grew accustomed to it, we liked it, and for a while we practiced it when we came home. Although we seldom take a nap, we try to eat our big meal around 2 or 2:30 (we are retired now, so we can do that). I am reading a book entitled, “The Power of Full Engagement. Managing Energy, Not Time is the Key to High Performance and Personal Renewal”. I think the afternoon siesta and association with the family is a great way to manage energy and accomplish personal renewal. It’s sad to see it go in Spain.

Hey guys! I love your podcasts but I would love if you guys made a podcast about the different accents and dialects of Latin America and Spain….so many people don’t realize how many different dialects there are, and how many different sounds of Spanish there are. The accents of Ecuador, Chile, etc. are especially not learned or understood.
